Welcome to Godavari Pushkaralu - 2015

Pushkaram or Pushkaralu is the major festival of Rivers.in India, there are 12 Rivers considered for Pushkaralu. Out of the 12 Rivers in India, Ganga and Godavari are major rivers and Pushkaralu (Pushkaram Festival) held at Grand scale. Pushkaralu held for once in 12 years for 12 days. Now, 2015 is the year of Godavari Pushkaralu.

Godavari Pushkaram held in Maharastra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. There are number of Pushkara Ghats for holy bathing in all three states. But, the River Godavari at Rajahmundry of Andhra Pradesh is called as “Akhanda Godavari”. This year (2015) Godavari Pushkaralu are called as “Godavari Maha Kumbh Mela”, which occurs once in 144 years.

During Pushkaralu pilgrims from all over the country will have a holy dip in the sacred water of the River Godavari. Adi Pushkaralu held for 12 days from 14th July 2015 to 25th July 2015 (12 Days) and Antya Pushkaralu held for 12 days in the year 2016. Read more
